It's officially the end of the month, where has January gone?! It's flown by so quickly, it's crazy. I'm not complaining though, January is such a rubbish month. Bring on Febraury. As it's the end of January, I'm back with another advertisers post to share with you all the lovely blogs that have been in my sidebar this month.

Hi *waves*, I’m Chloe, a 17-year-old student, currently living in the UK, somewhere in between Bath and Bristol. My blog is Beauty & the Girl, where I write about many things, although predominantly beauty. As well as beauty, I share things that I (the girl) get up to in my every-day-life. That means venturing into the life of fashion and lifestyle blogging. As well as blogging, I am a big fan of shopping (who isn’t?) – beauty, clothing, and stationary being my biggest weaknesses. I also have a passion for travelling and plan to visit many countries, including France, Italy and America. I dream of roaming around little cities and villages, with my camera, visiting independent cafes and snapping vintage, culture-full images. I write about all of these things over on Beauty & the Girl, so pop along and leave a comment if you pass through!

Chloe's blog has been down all month for her relaunch, but she's back this February with lots of brilliant content, so follow her on twitter for the updates on when her blog is going to be back live! You can find Chloe's blog at www.beautyandthegirl.co.uk (when it's back up and running!) or follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

I'm Beckie, a 21 year old from Birmingham, UK. I'm also a final year Criminology student. I created this blog back in 2012 under 'girlswithblondecurls', but I stopped after 2 years, and started up again in May 2015 under the name 'Beckie Eschle'. I blog about recent beauty finds, my latest outfits, books, recipes, travels and hauls.I originally started my blog back up again, so I could help others manage their mental health. I suffer from anxiety & depression, and I have a variety of posts on how to manage that, and what works for me! Enjoy folks.

My favourite post from the month was 'How I've Been More Productive This January' because I've been so crap at being productive, and it gave me a few tips to getting back on track! Eating healthy this January has been a massive help for me. You can find Beckie's blog at www.beckieeschle.com or follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

I'm a 20 year old blogger, poet and newbie YouTuber; I'm in my third year of uni and I'm a lover of dark lipstick, Pepsi and all things skincare. I've been blogging for over a year and I talk about anything & everything on The Lilac Scrapbook - it truly is a little scrapbook of my entire life. This month I was included in a list of Merseyside's best female bloggers & vloggers which was amazing, and I hope to see my blog grow even more this year. Come and say hello!

My favourite post from the month was 'You Do You' because it's actually so true. You do not have to support every single person's ideas to be a feminist, you can call people up on shit and have your own opinion! You can find Katy's blog at www.thelilacscrapbook.com or follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

Hi! I'm Lauren, a 20 fashion blogger and 3rd year Keele uni student. Love sweets and cocktails. Started my blog on May and it's the best thing I've ever done. It's helped me decide on a whole new career path and grown my confidence.

My favourite post from the month was this 'Burgundy OOTD' because I love all things burgundy, that skirt is absolutely beaut and I might just have to pick it up for myself! Lauren looks gorgeous, you can find her blog at www.minniemousechic.blogspot.co.uk or follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

Hello everyone! I'm Emily, an 18 year old make-up obsessed blogger! I'm a fully qualified Beauty Therapist and an aspiring make-up artist currently try to for fill those aspirations. You can find my blog over at Emily Rose or my Youtube channel under the name 'Emily Rose'. I write about all things beauty related from monthly favourites to reviews. I'd be ever so grateful if you went over and had a read and let me know what you think! Lots of love x

My favourite post from the month was 'Free Fonts for Bloggers' because I
absolutely love finding new fonts. I literally hoard fonts, and there's some gorgeous ones in this post. You can find Emily's blog at www.emilyrosemyblog.blogspot.co.uk or follow her on Twitter and Instagram.

It's been so nice to have these lovely blogs and brands advertising with me throughout January, go and check them out and find yourself some new reads! :) If you're interested in advertising with me in future months you can find out more here (packages start from just £4!)

Last year, I finally got myself into some kind of routine with skincare. Actually I wouldn't call it a routine as it wasn't exactly a consistent thing, but I built up a bunch of products that work for my skin. I am crap at skincare, always have been, but I am making more of an effort each year. These are the products that made it into my inconsistent skincare attempts in 2015.

Ark Skincare Cleanser | This is my go to summer cleanser. It removes makeup effortlessly, even waterproof mascara, leaving the skin feeling fresh and clean. I only use it in the summer months due to my skin drying out a bit more in the winter, and I feel like I need something a bit more moisturising. Ark's Skincare Cleanser is soap free and designed with young skin in mind, but they have other ranges for other ages too. Ark are so underrated, go check them out.

Lush Ocean Salt | The best smelling face scrub I have ever owned by far, which is actually odd because when I first bought it I couldn't stand the smell. How things change. This is my holy grail face scrub, it leaves my skin so smooth and removes dry flaky skin so easily without being harsh or rough on the skin at all. There is no doubt that I will be repurchasing this forever and ever.

St Ives Apricot Face Scrub | When I have days when my skin is extra sensitive, my holy grail Lush face scrub can be a little too much for my skin. It's very rare that these days occur, but when they do the St Ives Gentle Apricot Face Scrub is a lifesaver. It is so gentle on the skin as it is designed for the most sensitive of skin, it's got a mild formula that hasn't ever aggravated my skin at all. It smells deliciously of apricots too, an absolute bargain for under £5!

The Body Shop Camomille Cleansing Butter | The cleanser I will be reaching for throughout the colder months for sure, is The Body Shop's Camomille Cleansing Butter. The butter formula makes removing makeup an absolute dream, and it removes absolutely everything so easily. It feels so luxurious to remove makeup with, as the formula is so creamy, and it leaves the skin so smooth and moisturised too. At only £13, I will repurchase this again and again.

Antipodes Rejoice Light Daily Face Cream | I have posted about this face cream so much in the past few months, so I'd be surprised if you haven't seen it before. All I can say is that it's the best daily moisturising product I've ever tried. It leaves my face moisturised all day, even with a full face of makeup on which leaves me with no dry patches at all. There's a more detailed review here, if you want to know more.

Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water | For the lazy days when I just want to take my makeup off and be done with it, I will always reach for this. In 2015, I completely ditched the makeup wipes, and ever since this has been my go to quick makeup remover. It removes most makeup with one swipe, waterproof mascara can be a bit harder to remove but no rubbing is ever involved, win! I've tried other micellar waters, and I don't think any of them compare to this one. It's sensitive on the skin and around the eyes, and claims to be hypo allergenic so brilliant for all skin types.

Lush Facemasks | I didn't have one in my stash currently to add to the photo, sad face. Definitely an excuse to go and buy one now though, right? Lush facemasks are without a doubt the best facemasks I've tried. I love that they're made fresh, they all smell and feel absolutely amazing. They come in little black tubs which I like so you can see how much you've got left. My favourite at the moment is Catastrophic Cosmetic, but I think I may pick up their Mask of Magnaminty to try next as absolutely everyone raves about it. What's your favourite?

I may suck at skincare but I think I've hauled a nice range of products together to create some kind of routine. What are you currently using in your skincare routine?

Glo & Ray Nebulae Foundation | Looking for a dewy finish foundation that actually sets on your face without slipping all over the place? This is your best bet. I hate dewy foundations, they don't suit me and I never feel like they're completely set on my face, but this offering from Glo & Ray has changed my opinions slighty. I love how it leaves a healthy natural glow, that also gives the skin a bit of a blurred look working wonders for my skin. It blends in to your natural skintone to leave an even finish, that lasts all day without touch ups. You can read my full review here, if you want to find out more.

Smashbox CC Primer | Smashbox are my go to brand for primers, I rarely use anything else. Their colour correcting offering is an apricot toned primer that evens out skin tone and counteracts discolouration and dark spots. It creates such a flawless, even base to apply makeup to, and it really does counteract redness better than any other product I've tried. It improves the wear time of makeup too, making my foundation last throughout the day and way into the night which is brilliant for a busy bee like me that rarely gets the chance to glance in a mirror to check for touch ups. I reviewed it fully here too.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer | Everyone raved about this concealer when it first came out, but since then it's kind of disappeared. The shade range is shocking, I'll tell you that now, but if you're one of the lucky ones to find the perfect match then this is a concealer I wouldn't think twice about picking up. It really leaves a healthy look to the skin, whilst still looking natural. When I have a bit of a tan, I love using this as an under eye concealer, it really brightens up the area without looking cakey. As my shade is a little too dark, I stick to covering unwanted blemishes with it. I'm yet to find something this concealer cannot cover.

L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation | The best matte foundation I have ever tried, and for under £10 it's a complete bargain. I'll tell you now, I wouldn't recommend it for dry skin because it is just so mattifying and I feel like it would clingy to every dry patch more than anything. L'Oreal have smashed it out of the park with this foundation, it's just a long lasting, non cakey, matte dream for the skin. It's not high coverage, it's more a medium base, it could be built up but I prefer to leave it as it just looks so natural and works wonders for hiding all my imperfections.

Covergirl Outlast Stay Fabulous Foundation | At the start of the year this was my go to foundation, and I only changed things up when this run out and I couldn't get it any more due to Covergirl not being available in the UK. I wouldn't hesitate about picking it up again if I ever get the chance. It leaves a flawless matte finish on the skin, but it also makes skin look so healthy and glowy too.

The Body Shop Instablur Primer | It's very rare that I'm using anything other than Smashbox as a primer, I've never really been a fan of any other brands for primer. They can be very hit and miss. The Body Shop's Instablur is a good drugstore alternative when I'm running out of my Smashbox and can't quite justify the £25 price tag that comes with it. It's brilliant for covering shiny skin before apply foundation, and it improves wear time whilst blurring out a few imperfections on the way too.

Seventeen Stay Time Concealer | This is like the Collection concealer that everyone raved to the hills about, but 100 times better. The texture is light and creamy, which leads to easy application and blending and it leaves a flawless skin finish. It's the lightest concealer I've ever tried, it just feels so nice to wear throughout the day because you just can't feel it. It's high coverage but it's not cakey and I've never had signs of creasing with it. The shade range is actually more in paler girls favour, the lightest shade is definitely the best I've seen on the highstreet for us pale girls.

At first, I attempted to make this a 'Top 5 Blushers' post, and then it hit me. I very rarely wear blusher, I cannot remember the last time I wore it to be honest. I'm all about that highlight and contour life. Obviously, I have one go to blusher for those days where I feel the need to reach for it though. Here are my face products of 2015...

Elf Blush in Blushing Rose | As I said, I don't reach for blusher very often. I naturally have quite pink toned skin, and applying most blushers just makes me look like I'm red faced all day long so I tend to avoid it. If there is a day when I'm feeling a little more pale then Elf's Blushing Rose is my go to, as it's a darker than your average pink blush shade. It's more of a berry toned blush, with specks of golden shimmer running through it. I wear this throughout autumn a lot more than any other season, as it fits right into that berry trend.

Seventeen Skin Wow Primer | A 3 way highlighter which you can used mixed with your foundation, as a base primer or as a highlight. Before trying this I hadn't ventured into the world of liquid highlighters, I always thought they added too much shimmer. Ever since trying this I've realised there isn't such a thing as too much shimmer, I love this highlight across the top of my cheekbones and in the arch of my eyebrow. It's not too in your face, but it adds the most gorgeous glowy highlight that can be built up easily without product slipping all over your face. I rarely leave the house without highlighter now, I like to sparkle.

Seventeen Contour Kit in Fair | Being pale and wanting to contour aren't two things that go together very well at all. Finding the perfect contour shade isn't easy when you're as white as a sheet. Seventeen changed the game when they released their Contour Kit in 4 shades, and I found the lightest is actually light enough for me to not look like I have a bright orange smudge below my cheekbones. It consists of a matte contour and highlight duo, which are easy to apply and blend out to create flawless cheekbones.

The Body Shop Honey Bronzer in 01 | If you're not looking for a contour kit as such but want to try a new contour/bronzer product I can't recommend this offering from The Body Shop enough. They have a range of 4 shades, so there is definitely something for everyone. The Honey Bronzer is completely matte with a smooth, easy to blend texture. It feels light on the skin, doesn't look cakey at all, and I've found there is literally no fallout due to the product being so compact. I've been using this for months and I haven't even left a dent in that gorgeous beehive design yet, I can see it lasting me a very long time.

2015 Favourites | Lipsticks

I have been trying to work out how to fit all my 2015 favourites into one post that was an acceptable length for you all to read. It's really been a massive dilemma. In the end I decided to split it up into a weeks worth of post, with each post focusing on my top favourites from each area. Kicking it off is my 2015 lipsticks...

MAC Rebel | If you know me, you know this is my go to lipstick. It is just me. It's one of the only lipsticks that I actually think suits me, and even if it doesn't I think I rock it and I feel killer when I wear it so that's all that matters. This beautiful berry bullet has been one of my favourite lipsticks since I bought it, and I will be repurchasing it every time I run out of it. I can't live without it's berry goodness, and truly incredible formula. After writing this up I seem to have misplaced this lipstick, I am praying I didn't leave it in a hotel over New Year, but it's looking that way... sad face.

MAC Diva | A gorgeous deep burgundy lipstick with the most perfect matte formulation ever. This lipstick does not budge all day long, it's usually what I wear to blog events and through all the cocktails, Diva always stays put. If I had to recommend a dark MAC shade to someone, who owned Rebel already, it would be this one.

Clinique Cherry Pop | If I'm wearing red and it's not the Maybelline pencil, then there is a high chance that this is on my lips. I wear this one the days I don't want such a bright in your face kinda red. It's the perfect deep cherry red shade, I can't quite explain it, it's not too dark and it's not too light. My perfect inbetween. It's so moisturising to apply to the lips, which obviously comes with the wear time being a bit crappy sometimes and reapplication is necessary, but for a colour like this I can put up with that. Liner is your best friend with this lipstick.

Olivia Palermo x Ciate in Praline | I first picked this up on a bit of a whim, I bought it for the packaging, not the lip colour. Never in a million years would I have gone for a brown toned nude, but I was pleasantly surprised when I put this on and I actually kinda made it work. Praline is a rosy brown based nude with a satin finish that lasts on the lips without a liner. If I had to pick a brown toned nude to wear all year, it would definitely be this one, I just seem to make this work like the others don't. Olivia Palermo and Ciate did good.

L'Oreal Julianne's Red | My go to summer red lipstick. This shade was worn constantly throughout the summer months, it's that perfect bright red pop that you want throughout the sunny weather. It looks flawless with a golden glowy makeup look, or if you're me and don't tan it also looks perfect on the palest skin ever. I feel like this is a shade anyone could rock, and with the creamy formula I think it's one every should have in their collection.

MAC Impassioned | I'm not a pink person at all. Especially bright pink. I once had my bedroom decorated with hot pink wallpaper and I'm pretty sure it's put me off pink all together. I bought this lipstick on a whim and at first I really regretted my decision, but it's definitely grown on me. Impassioned is a bright fuchsia toned pink, it's an amplified finish so it's got a creamy, easy to apply formula but it just has that added brightness to it. This isn't a lipstick for the faint hearted, but I absolutely love it, especially during spring and summer.

Maybelline Colour Drama Lip Pencil in Light It Up | Ever since I bought this a few months ago, it's been on my lips constantly. Throughout December I didn't really wear any other lip product as this was just perfect for every occasion. It's easy to apply and easy to wear, it doesn't require a great deal of touching up and the colour pay off is brilliant. It has a matte finish, but it doesn't drag on the lips or dry them out at all. If you don't own any of the Colour Drama Pencils, I would definitely recommend picking some up, they're top of my list currently.

Burts Bees Lip Crayon in Hawaiian Smolder | Lip pencils seem to be making their way into my collection a lot more this year, and I am so in love with them. This offering from Burts Bees is a traditional deep pink shade, which applies to the lips without dragging at all, and dries to leave a matte finish. I love this for more natural makeup days, when I don't want to feel anything on my lips but I want a little bit of colour there. It does fade throughout the day, but it's what I expect from the thinner formulation. This is the perfect introductory lip crayon in my opinion.

Brands I Want To Try in 2016

Monday, 11 January 2016

After I started to write this post I realised there are SO many brands that I have left to try. I am definitely one that sticks to the brands that I know, but this year I want to try something new and expand my makeup collection so much more. This may also result in me having to buy more storage for it all, but I'll cross that bridge when I get there. I've been eyeing up some IKEA storage anyway, so it's a perfect excuse. You're probably looking at me in shame for not trying some of these brands already, or only just dipping my toes into their waters, but I'm getting better with new brands I promise!

Origins | I'm not going to lie to you, I am rubbish at skincare. I have skincare products that I absolutely love and they work wonders on my skin, but I don't have a routine like I should do. Some nights I don't even take my makeup off, that's very rare, but still gross ew. 2016 is going to be the year I make an effort with my skin and that obviously means I should invest in some new products. Everyone raves about Origins, and I've got my eye on their Ginzing Moisturiser and a few of their masks.

NYX | I'll tell you a little story about when we couldn't get NYX in the UK, I used to go on the NYX website and put everything I ever wanted in my basket and then get sad because I couldn't actually order it. Now that we can get NYX I haven't been too fussed, what a surprise. I am determined to try a few of their products, especially the Soft Matte Lip Creams, they look incredible.

The Balm | If I see one more post about the Mary Lou Highlighter before I actually get round to buying it I think I might explode. The Balm have taken over the blogging world with their little highlighting gem, and after my spending ban it's going to be the first thing I buy I can't wait any longer. I am not a fan of buying products online before I see them in store, and I can't find The Balm anywhere which has put me off ordering but I think I've read enough reviews now to know that highlighter is needed in my collection.

KIKO | Another brand that I've never been able to find in store is KIKO, the closest store to me is in London and I rarely visit because I actually hate shopping in London. I'm pretty sure my heart skipped a beat when I spotted a KIKO store up in Nottingham, so next time I make a venture up there (hopefully quite soon) I will be making a trip to KIKO and buying absolutely everything. Their eyeshadows are top of my list, but I'm sure I'll find about 100 other things to pick up and purchase.

Sephora | Ever since Sephora started shipping to the UK I've wanted to make an order, but I've never justified the shipping fees, or I've never been able to narrow my order down enough for me to be able to afford everything. The US have so many beauty products that I'm dying to try, but the Sephora Collection Cream Lip Satin look absolutely gorgeous. If I don't make a trip to the Paris, or even better the US, in the next year I am going to have to make a Sephora order whilst crying at my bank balance because there is no doubt that I will buy everything. When are they going to put a Sephora in London?!

NARS | Another brand that I very rarely see in stores anywhere. Space NK in Chichester had NARS but they didn't have a massive range of products, and the time I got colour matched for a foundation I wasn't happy with how the colour looked on me so I never got round to picking one up. NARS Sheer Glow has been on my wishlist since I first started blogging, and their Creamy Concealer joined that list not long after. Next time I see NARS in store, I'm going to get colour matched again and pray that it looks good on my skin, and finally buy something. Their Audacious Lipsticks are also calling me, but I just can't pick a shade to try first.

Anastasia Beverly Hills | My brow game isn't strong, I'm not going to deny that. I don't ever make an effort with my brows because they're half blonde so are basically non existent anyway. ABH Dip Brow Promade seems to work wonders for everyone, alongside Brow Wiz, and I seriously want to up my brow game so it seems like the perfect duo for me. The ABH Contour Kits are stunning, I will get my hands on one this year. US Brands please come to the UK and be more accessible to us.

Makeup Geek | I hadn't heard about Makeup Geek until a few weeks ago, but now everyone is raving about them I feel like I need to add something to my collection. After doing some research and realising how cheap their products are for the price, I've decided I need pretty much every single one of their eyeshadows and it is very likely that I will have a whole palette of them by the end of 2016.

Colourpop | This is the same as with Makeup Geek, I was oblivious that Colourpop existed until a few bloggers started comparing the Kylie Lip Kits to some Colourpop lip products. After doing some research I've learnt that their eyeshadows are so worth the hype behind them, and I definitely need the Matte Lip Creams that everyone is comparing to Kylie's.

Charlotte Tilbury | The luxury brand that hit the blogging world by storm in 2015. CT was everywhere, you literally cannot get away from it. Can you blame the bloggers for going crazy though? With packaging that pretty I don't think you can. I am very hesitant about splurging on everything CT because the only store near me that stocks it is in London, and I do not want to be spending that kind of money on a lipstick that will sit in my drawers all year. Even if it is that pretty. I have been eyeing up the Vintage Vamp palette for a while though, so I may purchase that first.

Goals for 2016

Sunday, 10 January 2016

I spent a lot of time towards the end of last year thinking about whether I should set goals for my blog this year, because last year I got a bit wrapped up in the stats and I wasn't enjoying not hitting targets. I've decided not to set blog goals this year, I will have targets but they won't be set in stone over a time period, and they won't be written down so I can't get wrapped up in them. Instead I've decided to set some more personal goals, I don't set New Years Resolutions, they're just not me and I usually fail. These are a few goals to keep me going throughout 2016...

Focus on myself | Throughout 2015 I found myself focusing on other people, who in the end were not worth the time and effort. From this I learnt that at the end of the day, the only person that's always got your back is you. In 2016, I'm going to do the things that I want to do, when I want to do them and I will be doing them for myself and no one else. I want to start eating healthier again, and get myself back into a regular sleeping pattern, as I know doing both will improve my life on a day to day basis so much. 2016 is going to be my year.

Travel more | 2015 was a year that I felt trapped in a bubble that I could not get away from. I wasn't allowed to travel to many of the places I wanted to, and I just felt stuck. Towards the end of the year I travelled more, I saw new cities, and I was so much happier already. My main goal for 2016 is to travel as much as I can, book a ticket, take a ride, visit a new city. It can be risky, but it's experience. 'Travel whilst you can, or you'll regret it when you can't' is one of my favourite mottos at the moment. I want to travel the country, and it would be a dream to go abroad this year as I haven't been away in so long, let's hope I can.

Get my AS levels | As I dropped out of college last year, and restarted in September, my education is my main focus. I hate college, there is no doubt about that, I don't find my subjects overly difficult I just don't like the whole style of my college at all. Saying that, I need A Levels. Going to university has been my dream since I can remember, what I want to study may have changed many times, but I have never doubted the fact that I want to go to university. I take my AS exams in May/June, and then continue on to take the A Level exams next year. My goal is to finish 2016 with 3 high graded AS Levels so I can apply for uni.

Stop buying things I don't need | The amount of times I pop into Boots to pick up some essentials, and walk out with a bag full of products that are definitely not essentials is crazy. I waste so much money. It's a fact. As soon as I get paid it's like a race for me to spend it, I cannot save money at all. If I want to travel this year, then I obviously need to save some money. I'm also saving up to buy a camera to improve my photography, and potentially start Youtube. I am currently on a spending ban, I'm not sure how long it's going to last, and I have essentials, football tickets and train tickets as exceptions to the ban. I have a goal to reach, and I'll go from there. If you have any tips on how to save money, please let me know, but it all seems to be going well so far...

Learn to say no and not feel guilty about it | Last year one of my goals was to start saying yes more often, and this was great, until I started saying yes to absolutely everything and I ended up with so much on my plate that I just didn't have time for. It really got me run down and it's not the kind of stress I want to put on myself ever again. This year, I want to learn how to say no and not feel guilty about it. You cannot please everyone and you do not have to take every opportunity that comes to you. Saying yes to everything, can lead to people walking all over you, which is something that happened to me a lot last year. I've definitely learnt from my mistakes, and from now on I will find it ok to say no. Do things because you want to, not because you feel like you have to.

Have you set yourself any goals for 2016?

December Favourites

I am definitely having that post Christmas feeling after going back to reality of a 7 full day week. Can we rewind to the middle of December please? I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! Today, I'm bringing you my favourite beauty products from the festive month of December...

I kicked off December with a new shower gel, after my Lush order arrived wrong, they sent me the Yuzu and Cocoa Shower Cream as an apology. I cannot knock Lush for their customer service at all, they're always helpful and friendly! I'd only ever tried Snow Fairy from Lush and I always thought I didn't need to try the others and wasn't ever particulary bothered about picking them up in store, how wrong was I. Yuzu and Cocoa smells exactly like chocolate oranges, which I associate with Christmas so this was my staple shower gel scent for the festive period. 100% better than Snow Fairy, sorry not sorry.

After running out of mascara, and taking a trip to TK Maxx, I picked up Revlon's Lash Potion Mascara on a bit of a whim and I've really started to like it. At first I was put off because I only ever use mascaras with a plastic brush, I just find them so much better. I have to admit, this isn't the best mascara I've ever used, but for a bristle brush it's definitely up their as one of my favourites. I find it really lengthens lashes and makes them look so full, but I find it clumps them together quite easily sometimes, so I like to run an old mascara brush through just to separate them up a bit more.

I ran out of concealer and Boots were out of stock of my holy grail Seventeen Stay Time, story of my life lately. I picked up my old favourite, Rimmel's Wake Me Up Concealer, and fell back in love with it again. I still find the shade range isn't light enough for me as I think a 'Porcelain' shade would be better for under the eyes and highlighting areas, but for covering unwanted blemishes I love this concealer. As it's slightly too dark, it doesn't highlight them, instead it completely masks them, I will be picking this up alongside Stay Time from now on.

After featuring in my 'Top 5 Festive Reds Post', which you can read here, My Christmas Day lip choice was Maybelline's Colour Drama Pencil in Light It Up. I wore it pretty much all the way throughout December, and it was also my New Years Ever lip too. Maybelline did good with these lip crayons, they are so easy to apply; which I proved by applying it in under a minute before rushing out of the door NYE as we were late for dinner! It does need a touch up after a meal and a few cocktails, but it stuck perfectly through a NYE kiss so it gets a good formula rating from me. The matte finish is oh so similar to the NARS Velvet Matte pencils, I would consider them a dupe for sure. I need to pick these pencils up in every shade possible, I absolutely love them!

Winter skincare has been a massive change for me as I've never really had a skincare routine so it was all a shock to the system when I realised my go to products just weren't doing the trick anymore. I reached for my The Body Shop Camomille Cleansing Butter to give my skin a bit of hydration and I haven't looked back. It removed my NYE makeup without too much hassle, and it's definitely got a luxury feel to the product. My skin is so clear and smooth at the moment, with no dry patches in sight. I found my other cleanser offerings were getting quite drying through this horrible weather, but this thick butter formula is working wonders for my skin.

Last up is the Urban Decay Vice 3 Palette. I got this for Christmas last year and to be honest I haven't used it as much as I should have done over the past year, so I made it my mission to use it this month. I am so glad I dug it out of my collection as it's a beautiful palette. I used it to create my Christmas and NYE makeup looks, alongside the Naked Smoky. It lasted all day and night with no worries at all. The shade range gives you so much variety and you can create an infinite amount of looks with this palette, from natural to absolutely colour crazy! The Vice 3 isn't available anymore, but I'd recommend picking up the Vice 4 whilst you still can!

My Blog is Two!

Happy New Year everyone!!! This post is a few days late as I took a break over New Year to travel to Notts, which was incredible, but on January 1st my blog turned two years old. I cannot believe how quickly the time has passed, it feels like only a few months ago I was writing my 'My Blog is One' post.

A year on, and I have achieved so much more than I could ever imagine. I've attended some incredible events, worked with companies that I would've never even dreamed of, and met even more amazing people that I can definitely call friends for life. My blog is my escape from everything and I am so glad to have it as a hobby. Never in a million years would I have ever imagined that two years on I would have over 1400 followers on Bloglovin, over 100,000 page views and still love blogging more than anything. I'll admit it, yes there are days when I hate my blog and want to quit, but I get that with everything in my life and I seriously wouldn't change it for the world.

Seeing how much I have actually achieved in the past two years pushes me to make my blog a success. 2016 is going to be the year that I take my blog to another level and I cannot wait for you all to see the things I have planned. Blogging has opened the door for me to travel the country, meet some other truly inspiring bloggers and even make a little bit of money to fund my makeup addiction. I cannot wait to see what's in store for me in 2016.

I just want to thank every single one of you for following and continuing to grow my blog, it doesn't seem like a reality to be honest. I don't ever stick to anything, and to have stuck with my blog for over two years now shows me that it's something that I want to continue with me into my future. Blogging isn't easy, there are no shortcuts. You become successful through consistent hard work. I may not have a million followers and I haven't written a book, but I'm pretty proud with how much I have grown with my blog and as a person over the past two years.

Thankyou for supporting perksofbeingami and for always encouraging me to buy all the makeup that I definitely do not need. I hope the journey with us will continue for a whole lot longer.
