High End Lusts; Foundation

Wednesday, 30 July 2014

Over the past few weeks I've been a little stuck for inspiration and time to write blog posts I'm actually happy to publish, so, I decided to create a little series that I'll post weekly to help keep up with blogging regularly! This series will be full of all my high end lusts, with a different section every week.

I thought I'd start at the base of it all, with my pick of the foundations I've been wanting to try for a while. The only reason that I haven't bought these foundations is because I don't live close enough to counters to get colour matched which is so annoying, but I'm travelling more this year and will definitely find somewhere to pick these up! Now on to my picks;

First on my list is NARS Sheer Glow, this foundation is rocking the beauty world like no other, all I see is good reviews about it, I really don't think I've read a bad review! I am in desperate need of a foundation that will give me that healthy glow that I lack due to not sleeping and eating crap, but I think I've spotted something that will give me back my glow!

Second is Estee Lauder Double Wear, from the reviews I've read this foundation gives a good coverage but is also very buildable without looking cakey, which is great for me as I have days where I don't need much foundation but other days my face is full of redness due to being very very pink skinned so I need something that can deal with both days, Double Wear sounds like the one!

Third is Mac Studio Fix Fluid, this is a foundation I'd love to try but I've also read some pretty bad reviews about it as it can make you look cakey which is something that nobody wants! I'm sure I will pick up this foundation due to it's high coverage that I love during the winter months due to again being pink skinned which is a lot worse during the colder seasons.

The last foundation on my list is Naked Skin by Urban Decay, I only heard about this foundation recently but from what I've heard it's a 'holy grail foundation'. Everyone wants a flawless finish without having to cake your face in makeup, and this foundation claims to have a buildable coverage with a lightweight finish, so who could say no to that?

The other reason that I'd love to try all these foundations is because they're the very few that actually do a shade light enough for me, I have a nightmare trying to find a good foundation due to having pale skin, it's such a pain.

What's your favourite high end foundation?

Instant Hair Refresh

Wednesday, 23 July 2014

With all this summer heat, my hair starts to feel greasy a lot quicker which is such a pain! This product has been a life saver over the past few weeks, as I hate washing my hair too much as it removes natural oils that are good for your hair.

Whenever my hair starts to feel greasy and horrible I reach for this product straight away, it's amazing! After I've used Batiste my hair feels like it's just been washed and it feels fresh and clean! This product is also a great thing to have in your handbag, so I also keep a mini size for on the go!

There are so many varieties of Batiste but out of all the ones I've tried, this is my favourite, the smell just makes me feel so refreshed and cherry is a scent that I love!
(I own so many cherry candles!)

If you're going to any festivals/camping this year, take Batiste with you and thank me later, you will never understand how quickly your hair starts to feel horrible when you're not in the comfort of your own home and you're surrounded by lots and lots of sweaty people, it's gross.

I think that Batiste products are great for the money, but I also find that they're usually half price in Boots or Superdrug quite a lot so whenever they're half price I stock up on a few because who doesn't love to save a bit of money?!

Baby Lips Grapevine Review

Monday, 21 July 2014

I got sent this in a package from my friend from America! It's something that I've wanted to try for a while because I really wasn't all that amazed by the Baby Lips released over in the UK. Also the blue packaging is my favourite colour so I had to have it really! America seem to have everything 10 times better than we do.

First things first, the packaging for this product is so simple but the colours go together so well, it's definitely my favourite colour combination. I like how the lip balm is in a twist up tube as I find them a lot easier to apply than tin lip balms! Secondly, before even trying the product another thing made me love this, the smell, it's divine. I found the other Baby Lips smell horrible, but this one smells like sweets! It's gorgeous and it makes me want to apply it constantly.

Now onto the actual product itself! I found the other Baby Lips to be greasy and sticky, but this one applies like a dream and doesn't feel greasy at all. It moisturises the lips and makes them feel smooth and nourished which is exactly what I want in a lip balm! It also tastes like the smell!

As you can see this Baby lips has a slight purple tint, which is actually a really nice subtle colour when applied to on the lips. I prefer a tinted lip balm to add a subtle splash of colour into a simple makeup look.

I definitely recommend getting your hands on this Baby Lips if you can, even if you were disappointed by the others, as I really thought the others weren't worth the hype but this is such a different story and I'd repurchase this if I could! Overall, this is one of my favourite lip balms now, the packaging, the colour and the formulation are all perfect and exactly what I'm looking for.

School Life and Prom

Sunday, 20 July 2014

Although school wasn't the best time for me at all, I hated it, prom was something I was looking forward to even if it is a lot of effort for one night. I think it's such a different evening for everyone, you see everyone out of what they'd normally wear and to be honest everyone scrubbed up pretty well. It's amazing how different people can look out of a school uniform and how their personality can change with it too, I spoke to people that I never got on with at all in school but it was nice to leave with no negative feelings about people at all.

As I said, school wasn't a great time for me, but the people in the photos are the main reasons I went to school. I didn't get photos with everyone because it was hard to get everyone together at one time, but these are just a few. The girls mean everything to me, they never fail to make me laugh and whatever's going on in life I can count on them to make it better, and I''ll miss them when we go to different colleges but that's something everyone has to deal with.

The major thing at school is you can't have a boy best friend, it happens everywhere, people seem to think that boys and girls can't just be friends, but they can. Yes, one of my bestfriends is a boy, problem? They're so much easier to get on with, there's no bitchiness at all and it's great. I literally go to him about everything and anything and I wouldn't change it. I talk to him about things that I couldn't talk to girls about, like rugby and football, and music, he's introduced me to music that I now love which is why we're such great friends. I would say I'd miss him, but he has to put up with me for another two years at college! yay!

Prom is something I'd love to do all over again but I'm also glad it's over! It was a lot of stress and planning just for one night, but it was a great night!
